For New Believers

Have you recently accepted Christ as your Savior?

That is so exciting! We hope you'll agree that this is the most important life step you will ever take.

This step is only the beginning to a life-long journey and if you're like most, this step probably comes with a lot of questions. That, is completely normal, and our goal is to help walk alongside you as you begin to learn what it means to be a devoted follower of Christ. As we begin our journey together, we want to encourage you to follow the Lord in obedience in baptism.

Baptism

Baptism is an identification with Jesus. In being baptized Christians publicly proclaim that their life is found in Jesus alone. (Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, 1 Peter 3:20-22)

Baptism is an outward declaration of a person’s inward commitment to follow Jesus. In being baptized Christians are saying to their families, friends, the church, and everybody else, I am a follower of Jesus. (Ephesians 4:4-6)
Baptism follows the example of Jesus (Matthew 3:12-15), and is done in obedience to the preaching of those who Jesus first taught (Acts 2:38, Acts 19:4-5).

Do you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and have accepted Him as your Savior? Are you ready to be baptized? If the answer is "yes!", we encourage you to contact Pastor Steve Smith at steve@lakeviewch.org to learn about upcoming baptism events and the process.
